| EdenEden is the quarterly journal of the California Garden & Landscape History Society. Since its first issue in May 1996, it has published original research on California's cultural landscapes, historic designed gardens, horticulture, and nurseries — from Golden Gate Park to Dodger Stadium, the citrus groves and the world's fairs, Katherine Bashford and Garrett Eckbo, the missions and the modernists. Each issue carries scholarly articles, book reviews, and news of preservation efforts across California. Nearly thirty years of back issues are available to download here. In 2023 the California Office of Historic Preservation awarded CGLHS the Governor's Historic Preservation Award, singling out Eden as an essential, freely available resource on the state's garden heritage. Steven Keylon has served as editor since 2017. The current issue is available to members on the Eden Members Page. Become a member. |
