As the former garden editor for Sunset Magazines and Books, Kathleen Norris Brenzel has decades-worth of stories about Sunset's history and influence. She produced four editions of the Sunset Western Garden Book and two editions of the Sunset Western Landscaping book, among others. Before bringing Hawaii into the 2012 edition of The Western Garden Book, she participated in an environmental journalism fellowship program at the National Tropical Botanical Garden in Kauai.

The Healthy Garden, co-authored with Mary Kate Mackey, is her latest book.

About our speaker

Kathleen Norris Brenzel is a former garden editor of Sunset Magazine and Books. She has shared garden tips at garden shows throughout the U.S, from New England and Philadelphia to Los Angeles, and on TV shows including The Victory Garden (PBS); Grow-It series (HGTV) and The House Doctor (ABC).

Among her awards: The Garden Communicator of the Year Award (Horticultural Society); the Excellence in Media award (American Society of University Women); and Time Inc’s Brilliant Lifestyle Extension Award for a digital version of the Western Garden Book.

Kathleen lives in Northern California.
